Graduate Nurse Program

The Lifeview Graduate Nurse Program is a 12 month program designed to assist newly graduated Registered Nurses (within their first year of clinical practice) with the transition into a nursing role. This helps the graduate gain confidence and expand their skills within Lifeview’s team environment.

Common challenges for graduate nurses transitioning into employment include connecting theory with practice (limited practical knowledge), workload management, communication requirements and understanding the expectations of the workplace. The role of a nurse in aged care can be demanding, but with a supportive work environment and a mentorship support model, a relatively inexperienced nurse will quickly obtain the opportunities and guidance that can assist with skills proficiency, team leadership, overall experience, and confidence building.

The Lifeview Graduate Program aims to provide participants with support, mentoring, supervision, training, and workplace experiences to enable them to work effectively as part of the overall Lifeview Team.

During the program graduates will be exposed to a variety of challenging resident care needs including:

  • Wound Management
  • Management of Acute and Chronic illness
  • Dementia Care
  • Palliative and End of Life Care
