Viva Las Lifeview wows residents at annual PAC gala

Every year the ‘uniquely Lifeview’ Positive Ageing Celebration (PAC) gala event wows residents and their families.

This year’s soiree, titled ‘Viva Las Lifeview’, at the Springvale Town Hall certainly didn’t disappoint.

Staff from Lifeview, a residential aged care provider based in Melbourne’s south-east, dressed in their most ‘Vegas’ outfits and got ‘all shook up’ in the spirit of the day.

Attendees were wined and dined and treated to a stunning array of entertainment and activity.

As usual the atmosphere on the dancefloor was electric. ‘Elvis’ had the room rocking as he performed his greatest hits alongside resplendent Vegas showgirls.

The gaming tables, manned by Lifeview staff, were hubs of excitement, residents and their families trying their luck at blackjack, roulette and the big wheel.

The White Wedding Chapel also proved popular, as did the slushie station, serving up colourful Vegas themed drinks for the occasion.

All the while, Lifeview’s professional chefs expertly delivered a memorable culinary experience.

The Elvis-inspired menu consisted of starters including ‘King Creole Elvis Sandwich’ and ‘Latest Flame Grilled Meatballs’. Mains offered a choice between ‘Love Me Tender Chicken Burger’ or ‘Vegas Veggie Burger’, while dessert was a generous portion of ‘I Want You, I Need You, I Love You Brownies’ with lashings of ‘All Shook Up Cream’.

“Our annual PAC event is one of the highlights of the year for the residents and the staff,” Lifeview CEO Samantha Jewell said.

“It is always so heartening to see the residents, their families, and staff so happy and energised to get into the spirit of the day.

“It is a unique event to Lifeview, and I am very proud of all the effort that goes into putting it on.”

Lifeview Social Support, Events and Diversity Manager Annitta Macauley, who oversees PAC each year, said “the smiles on the faces of residents were what it was all about”.

“They enjoy it so much. It’s very, very special and a real highlight of their year. The event itself is a big undertaking but when you see the residents smiling and having fun, all the effort is worth it and I’m so thankful for everyone getting behind it.”
