Events

Each month a range of special themed events are held in each of our homes. These events range from dress up days, days of cultural celebration such as Italian National and Bastille Day, to sporting events such as Grand Final and Melbourne Cup. Residents also travel the world as part of Lifeview's A Day In program, celebrating the food, culture, music, art and much more of each country they visit.

Many events are linked to a special theme menu such as St. Patrick’s Day where traditional Irish fare is served along with green beer, or Oaks Day where cocktails and finger food precede a three-course lunch.

Lifeview also holds Anzac Day dawn services, conducted onsite by the local RSL, followed by a themed Anzac Gunfire breakfast. Staff and residents at Lifeview also observe one minute’s silence on Remembrance Day each year, wearing rosemary buttonholes and corsages.

The Lifeview leadership and corporate team regularly visit residents at each home to celebrate special days, delivering chocolate hearts on Valentine’s Day, Easter eggs at Easter, roses on Mother’s Day and a variety of goodies at Christmas.

Lifeview also engages its residents, staff and volunteers in activities linked to broader community events, including charity fundraisers, cultural events and health promotions such as: National Volunteer Week, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea and Girls Night In (annual Breast Cancer awareness events), Hearing Awareness Week, R U OK Day, IDAHOBIT Day, Dementia Australia Memory Walk, Pride March, Movember and Run Melbourne.

In December each year resident and family Christmas parties are held at each home giving everyone a chance to catch up and celebrate the festive season.

There is always something going on at Lifeview - the residents love to celebrate any occasion.
