Through our Horizon Happenings social program, we help residents get the most out of life, learn new skills and build friendships. For many, it’s a time to enjoy family, friends and hobbies. Our lifestyle program offers something for everybody regardless of age or interests.
Our energetic social support team organise a busy calendar of daily activities at each of our homes. Residents enjoy activities such as golf, bowls, billiards, darts, bocce, ten pin bowling, skittles, bingo, card games, painting, Tai Chi and yoga to name a few. There are also enthusiastic knitting and quilting groups, walking groups, and regular outings to places of interest, for lunch and to local shopping centres. Keeping up community connections and discovering new possibilities is a big focus at Lifeview - that’s why we have our own Lifeview Buses to chauffeur residents to local happenings.
Also as part of the Horizon Happenings lifestyle calendar the social support team organise special events, such as hiring an animal farm to come and delight residents with a pat of a duck, a cuddle from a rabbit, a laugh with the goats, and feeding the animals. Residents also enjoy themed events like our cheese and wine nights - the team prepares a tasty menu to sample gourmet wines and vintage cheeses whilst being entertained by a jazz band. Come join us in Hawaii for the afternoon, we decorate the home and residents pop on a grass skirt, and floral shirt, with a flower lei. We have a beachy time, cocktail in hand whilst cruising to the sounds of the Beach Boys. Friends and family are encouraged and always welcome to attend events.
We also mark special days such as Valentine's Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Anzac Day, IDAHOBIT, Australia Day, the Melbourne Cup and footy Grand Finals. All are celebrated with special catering, flowers and decorations, making every occasion an opportunity for fun and special moments with family, and friends. Any chance to socialise and keep active we live it. It’s all about our view and being an example of excellence in innovation and inclusive care, by providing exceptional service while creating treasured moments.
